Volunteers needed for Al Gore's Climate Project

Dear Potential Climate Project Volunteers,

In addition to my current outpatient psychotherapy practice, I have recently accepted a new role as the Volunteer Coordinator for The Climate Project, a new non-profit organization working with Al Gore to educate the public about the threat of global warming. This group is currently training people from all sorts of places so that they can return to their communities and share more directly the information that Al Gore presented in An Inconvenient Truth documentary.  I am very excited that Nashville has been chosen as the location for these training sessions, and I am recruiting volunteers to help with the events.  If you or someone you know might be interested in this wonderful opportunity, please contact me.

We are looking for are people who are mature, organized, enthusiastic, and well-mannered since this is not only a demanding role but also a hospitality one. Volunteers will be meeting and greeting trainees from all over the United States and beyond, and we will assist them during the training sessions.  I need people to help with assembling materials, registering trainees, and people to assist with any and all tasks that the trainees or staff might need doing during the training sessions themselves.  We will have volunteer leaders and create teams that will work together on the tasks assigned.  I participated as a volunteer during the pilot project training program in late September 2006, and it felt so rewarding to be doing something to help our planet and the people in it!  For more information about The Climate Project, please go to: www.theclimateproject.org.

The training sessions occur on the following dates:  December 1 - 3, 2006; January 2 - 4; January 4 - 6; and January 8 - 10, 2007.  Volunteers will be working 4 - 6 hour shifts throughout these days and evenings, and each volunteer is required to attend one training session prior to the events.   Please email or call me if you would like to talk about the details of volunteering for this exciting project.  If you are interested in volunteering for the December training, please contact me by November 8th.  If you are interested in volunteering for one of the January training sessions, please contact me by December 6th.  You can certainly volunteer for more than one shift or day, or for more than one training event.  We will be pleased to see how you can best fit into our volunteer program.

Thank you, and feel free to pass this email along to other interested and dedicated people who might want to volunteer.  We need you!
