The workshop will be led by Tennessee Environmental Council Executive Director, John McFadden (PhD) and Kevin Guenther, Landscape Architect and partner, Design Resource  (www.designresourcegp.com.   The workshop is ideal for local park and greenway managers, and greenway design consultants, and it also has application to storm water managers and watershed associations

The course will include both lecture/discussion and hands on components.  We will cover some basic ecological concepts, ecological assessment of greenways and make how to make practical and cost effective aesthetic and ecological improvements.

We will be building a rain garden as a part of the workshop.  Rain gardens add beauty to the landscape and help reduce flooding by allowing storm water to be absorbed by the plants and infiltrated into the ground.  Please wear  field clothes, boots etc. and bring a water bottle.
