What is Tennessee Tree Day?
Each year Tennessee Tree Day engages thousands of volunteers in a fun, meaningful, family-friendly, event that results in multi-generational benefits to our environment, communities and public health.
Some plant trees to replace those lost to development. Others plant trees to help to repair degraded streams and improve water quality or to increase habitat for wildlife and pollinators. Some plant trees for purely aesthetic reasons. No matter the reason, all trees planted will improve the health of our environment by reducing air pollution, and enhancing Tennessee's magnificent tree canopy.
Thank you to all who participated in Tennessee Tree Day 2024. This year we planted our one-millionth tree!
We could not do this without YOU!

Learn About Our 2024 Tree Day TreesCommunity Benefits: This annual event provides multigenerational benefits to our environment, wildlife, communities and people. As trees grow and mature, the kids that helped their parents plant the trees watch those trees grow year after year. Tennessee Tree Day provides an opportunity for residents to nourish their environment and community. Not only does this action provide a gift to future generations, trees planted through this program serve as conduits to a cleaner environment by absorbing harmful toxins and runoff, improving water quality and establishing new and enhanced wildlife and pollinator habitat. Environmental Benefits: According to data from the U.S. Forest Service , we have calculated the following benefits of the 924,760 trees we will have planted through our annual Tree Day events thus far. These benefits assume an 80% survival rate, and 50 year life-span of trees planted.
