The EPA has released the 2002 Toxic Release Inventory report. Analysis shows a 5% increase in overall toxic emissions - the second time in its 15 year history that the TRI emissions have actually gone up. This is especially important in Tennessee because of our history for high TRI emissions. We've consistently been number one in the nation for developmental and reproductive toxins, and in the top ten for total toxic emissions into the air.  Stay tuned for further information about the Tennessee TRI releases in 2002. You can get more information on the new EPA report at http://www.epa.gov/tri . The latest data is due to be on the easy to use TRI Explorer website by the end of the the day June 23rd at http://www.epa.gov/triexplorer/  The following are recent news stories of interest.
